Supervisor Forum

A series of informal drop-in sessions for colleagues at SGSAH member HEIs. Whether you’re currently supervising, planning to supervise, or working in a PGR support role, these sessions offer a space to connect, share experiences, and discuss best practices in doctoral supervision.

Extended Training Allowance

An innovation fund open to all 17 member HEIs. We welcome proposals from staff at any affiliated institution to deliver training programmes in online, in-person, or hybrid formats.

Spring into Methods

SGSAH and the Scottish Graduate School of Social Science (SGSSS) have collaborated on Spring into Methods to commission interactive, interdisciplinary and innovative research, knowledge exchange and impact methods training for our PhD researchers since 2018. Each year, we invite proposals from members of staff in any affiliated HEIs to provide this training. Find out more.

Applied Research Collaborative Studentship

Our Applied Research Collaborative Studentships are doctoral projects designed and supervised by at least two higher education institutions and at least one other partner. Partners work with a highly motivated doctoral researcher on the development of cutting-edge research addressed to their organisation's needs and priorities

Collaborative Doctoral Awards

Our Collaborative Doctoral Awards provide funding for PhD-level research projects which are developed in partnership between Higher Education Institutions and non-HEI organisations or businesses.
